Facts You Should Know

Meningitis is an infection of the fluid and lining of the brain. In blood, infection is fought off by white blood cells. In the spinal fluid, there are no whiteblood cells and there is nothing to fight off the infection.

Once the infection starts, it can spread VERY RAPIDLY THROUGHOUT THE BODY!

This means you DO NOT have time!
